The Moomins have been part of our imagination for 80 years—mischievous, gentle, and endlessly curious. Their creator, Tove Jansson, gave us not only unforgettable characters, but also a philosophy of life: the courage to be yourself, the joy of friendship, and the quiet beauty of nature's rhythms.

This book celebrates that legacy through knitting. It contains 23 knitting patterns from 18 international designers who translate the atmosphere of Moominvalley into stitches: clothes and accessories that convey the warmth of Moominmamma's embrace, Little My's sharp humor, Snufkin's independence, and the salty breath of the northern sea. The idea for the book was born from childhood memories of Jansson's stories—from comics and television episodes to the magical world offered by her art. Its realization has been one of Laine's most significant projects, a tribute to both the 80th anniversary of the Moomins and Jansson's timeless creativity.
